ESPN has changed their layout and I don’t like it What ESPN.com has done with their layout today is shocking to me and begs to think if they care about their users? With the economy where it is we will see more and more people going this route?
This big fat STFU goes out to Gary.
Changing the layout for ONE DAY for a massive ad buy is hardly worth crying over. You’ll also notice...

I love Balk with all my heart and wish him all the success and bourbon in the world. He’s the reason I started reading Gawker and ultimately wound up working here.
This Thing Looks Like That Thing
You know when your “best buds” from High School call, and they’re like, “DUDE! You gonna be home for Thanksgiving?? We should totally all get together and drink in the HS parking lot like old times!” So like, whatever…you have nothing better to do. When you get there everyone’s gained like 20 lbs, the guys look like shit, and the girls look even worse....

How James spent his weekend: wearing high heels.
This is how you spell retribution.
By the powers vested in me as a dude...
I hereby declare today OPENING DAY of SKIRT SEASON.
For the uninitiated, skirt season is the mythical time of year when just about every single girl is biologically programmed to wear a skirt. It’s like some kind of circadian alarm goes off on the 2nd or 3rd warm weekend of the year, and next thing you know they’re out in full force. It’s a beautiful thing, akin to watching...

My Birthday
Hello Tumblr-verse.
My birthday is coming up on May 6th, which is a Wednesday this year (boo). As most of you know, I’m an incredibly big Mets fan, and it just so happens that those scummy Phillies are going to be in town for my birthday. I can score around two dozen cheap seats for $25 each, so if you’re interested in celebrating with me at Citifield, let me know by the end of the...
Easter Origins
lovepuppy:
Easter, a Christian festival, embodies many pre-Christian traditions. The origin of its name is unknown. Scholars, however, accepting the derivation proposed by the 8th-century English scholar St. Bede, believe it probably comes from Eastre, the Anglo-Saxon name of a Teutonic goddess of spring and fertility, to whom was dedicated a month corresponding to April.
Her festival was...
Things Not To Do In NY
amandalynferri:
The NY Aquarium is not cool. For about the same amount of time I spent commuting to Coney Island I could’ve gone to Connecticut to go to the Maritime Center and seen more sharks, climbed on things, learned how to tie knots, hold a starfish, and probably eat a lobster roll. I did how ever see a monster size lobster and get a macrame bracelet, but I am sure I could’ve gotten one...

Jeff is playing some wrestling video game so I was inspired to search for my old fave wrestler (whatever, you were into it too in elementary school — I mean, I probably liked him because his colors were pink and black).
Anyway, I guess he has a new book out. Good for him.
Bret was my favorite too! The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be!!

Enough about the snow! They’re flurries!
This is why Twitter should die a slow, painful, profitless death.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders...
– Ralph Waldo Emerson (via stephaniewei)
This was one of my favorite quotes in middle school. Oddly enough, I hated Emerson. Any WEI, happy birthday.
