My name is James. James Del actually. I work at a place called Gawker Media, something I find myself explaining to my parents every time I see them. They'll get it one day. I don't believe in Twitter, but I do believe in Facebook and LinkedIn. There's a Myspace page out there too, but never mind that. Questions, concerns, and comments can be directed to James, At-Sign Gawker, Period Com.

I’m not claiming to be better at what I do than anyone else, nor am I naive enough to expect others not to cover something (even if I’m the one who first made it a “story,” as often happens), but is it too much to ask places like HuffPo to not be so damn obvious about from where they get their ideas?
Take, for example, the above side-by-side comparison (click on the pic to enlarge it). Am I to believe it’s just a coincidence that they used the same headline, essentially the same angle/lede and the *exact* same screenshot (everyone knows I choose them meticulously) for a post that showed up five hours after mine? And that every other time this happens, which is often, it’s also just a coincidence?
You have your own brains. Use them.
